Chiropractic Procedures Receive Praise From Medical Community
FMCH physician embraces chiropractic techniques
April 19, 2011
Whether or not it’s documented, for many years, those in the field of chiropractic medicine were not looked upon favorably by those in the field of traditional medicine.
Doctors went to medical school, and chiropractors, well, they went to a specialized School of Chiropractic, such as Palmer in Davenport. Even insurance companies for a long time would not count a visit to the chiropractor as a legitimate medical expense.
But the tide has been turning, and medical doctors such as Dr. Todd Gray are singing the praises of manipulation techniques on a person’s back and other areas. He’s a doctor of internal medicine for the Fort Madison Physicians and Surgeons at Fort Madison Community Hospital
Of course, it helped that Gray graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic AND he holds a medical degree as well. Gray spoke at the April Complimentary Health meeting at FMCH a week ago Monday, and the subject matter clearly struck a nerve. A record 51 men and women crowded into the meeting room, with all chairs needed from an adjoining room.
